The Mexico City International Independent Film Festival STUFF MX celebrates its ninth edition in August 2024 and opens its official call to filmmakers from all over the world to register all their film materials, music videos; in all formats, genres and categories of any length, in animation, documentary, fiction and live-action, which will be valid from February 1, 2024 until June 30, 2024 at 23:59 CST (CST), Washington, D. C. time. CST (CST), Mexico City time.

Awards & Prizes

The works will be evaluated by a jury composed of film directors, screenwriters, photographers and recognized people from the national and international film scene, the official selection will be announced on July 8, 2024.
The jury’s decision will be final.with our cooperative friends.

Winners of competing works will receive the following awards.

• Official award of Sutff Mx Film Festival as official winner in its respective category.
• Various prizes awarded by our sponsors.
• Winning films may be eligible to participate as guests at STUFF FILM FESTIVAL’s allied festivals in Mexico and abroad.

CINEMINUTOS.

Works made from January 2020 to June 2024 with a minimum duration of 30 seconds (including credits), up to 120 seconds (including credits) may participate.

SHORT FILMS.

Works made from January 2020 to June 2024, with a minimum duration of three minutes (including credits), up to 25 minutes (including credits), are eligible to participate. Live action, animation or documentary.

MEDIUM LENGTH FILM

Works made from January 2020 to June 2024, with a minimum duration of 25 minutes (including credits), up to 45 minutes (including credits), are eligible to participate. Live action, animation or documentary.

FEATURE FILM

Works made from January 2020 to June 2024, with a minimum duration of 46 minutes (including credits), up to 120 minutes (including credits), are eligible. Live action, animation or documentary.

Cineminutes, short films, medium-length films and feature films produced between 2020 and 2024 are eligible to participate. The organizing committee, in conjunction with the programming department, may make exceptions corresponding to the year of production indicated.

The selections will receive cineminutos, short films, medium-length films and feature films shot digitally or filmed in 35mm, 16mm or 8mm, in Blu-ray exhibition format, .mp4 video file in Full HD (1920 X 1080).

It is not a requirement that the international works have been premiered in Mexico, the participating works may have been exhibited in any other festival in Mexico or the world.

The official selection of the Stuff Mx Film Festival will be published on Monday, July 8, 2024 on our official website www.stuffmx.com.mx and on our different social networks.

Participants may register an unlimited number of works, NO work may be withdrawn from the contest under any circumstances, once its participation in the festival has been accepted.

It is mandatory to sign the letter of authorization and approval of the festival rules by the legal representative or owner of the copyright of the work(s), otherwise, the organizing committee will proceed to immediate disqualification.

• No participant may announce his or her official selection before the festival makes it public on July 8, 2024. Failure to do so will result in immediate disqualification by the organizing committee. The festival does not return any copies of the submitted works.
• The festival does not pay for the screening of any of the participating works.
• The festival will accept works in any video format, produced anywhere in the world.

Any situation not established in this call will be resolved by the organizing committee.
