The Stuff Mx Film Festival was founded 11 years ago, and from the very beginning, it has been dedicated to serving as the premier platform for showcasing international and Mexican independent films in Mexico. And this year is no different—technology has caught up with us, and today we live in a future where we are connected on a global scale.
LIVING IN THE FUTURE
In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Fritz Lang’s Metropolis, the conceptual art by Stuff Mx reminds us of a time when this year seemed very far away and was envisioned as a future that very few would be able to reach and enjoy.
Today we are here: filmmakers from Germany, Canada, the U.S., Spain, Brazil, China, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, France, Mexico, and New Zealand show us how we are living in the future, offering their vision of the reality of the time Fritz Lang depicted in his film and what 2026—the year we are living in—is really like.
This year, the Stuff Mx Film Festival has the honor of being the first festival in Mexico to present an official selection of short films created using Artificial Intelligence, supporting filmmakers who have seen the Stuff Mx Film Festival as an opportunity to showcase their works as cinematic pieces—free from prejudice—in the best venues in Mexico City.
